End of season results |
||
I have received a query regarding the differences between the newly published Winter results and those being displayed on the web-site prior to the latest.
The latest results have had all non-financial participants and any boat that did not start at least one race removed. The non starters have no effect other than to reduce the fleet size and thus the maximum points accrued for a DNS ( did not start = fleet +1 ). Removing the non-financial participants can have noticable changes to the outcome of the series in a number of ways.
I hope this gives insight into how and why the results suddenly changed. We try to give people encouragment to sail by displaying the results of all races sailed whether they are financial or not but, once the series or season has ended and they are still not financial then we must adjust accordingly. I can see that this can be confusing and annoying. The committee is very keen to get all opinions on how this issue should be handled and encourages club members to participate in all matters relating to the running of the club. Thanks, |

Resumption of Racing
The decision to resume racing has been based on information provided by Australian Sailing Resources.
https://www.sailingresources.org.au/covid-19/
Hi CBSCers,
The club executive meet on Saturday morning to outline a plan to resume club racing.
Winter Series
The proposal is to resume racing in mid June. This proposal has been based on the current information provided by the Federal & State governments, and the intention by the NSW state government to begin easing COVID19 restrictions.
We have assumed the state government will implement the Federal Governments “3 Step Framework” for the reduction in social distancing restrictions, and anticipate the Step 2 restriction reductions will implemented around the time of our proposed re-commencement of sailing.
The proposed winter series is shown here.
Date Start Time Race Starter
Race 1 14th June 12.30pm Start Faraway - Greg Mackintosh
Race 2 28th June 12.30pm Start Reggae Beat - Denis Miller
Race 3 12th July 12.30pm Start Konan – Steven Gomboso
Race 4 26th July 12.30pm Start Serein - Jeffrey Payne
Race 5 9th August 12.30pm Start Beyond II - Mac Story
Race 6 23rd August 12.30pm Start Selene - Brad Williams
We will provide further updates, as the first race date nears, and the COVID19 restrictions are further clarified.
Access to CBSC Club House
To comply with the social distancing policies of the government, all members are requested to refrain from entering the club-house, with the exception of the starter and his/her assistant, and the Vice Commodore.
This means that until the limits on the number of people allowed to meet are eased, we will not be socialising in the club house after the races.
If skipper has any race fees they would normally place in the club-house letterbox, they are asked to place these in an envelope & hand them to the race starter, who will but them in the box, on their behalf.
First Half Summer Points-score Series
The sailing programme for next year has been prepared by Denis (Reggae Beat), and will commence 3 weeks after the end of the Winter Series proposed above, on 13th September 2020.
A copy is attached for your reference.
The club will issue laminated copies of the calendar, before the commencement of the new season. Don’t forget, it will also be available on the website after the end of the winter series.
Annual General Meeting
Due to the COVID19, the AGM will be postponed to 29th June, when it is anticipated that restrictions on the number of people allowed to meet will be lifted, to allow 10 people to meet.
For these COVID19 special circumstances, we propose to conduct the AGM with a pre-planned agenda, prepared in consultation of the members prior to the meeting, for ratification by the club committee on the night.
To facilitate this,
- Prior to the AGM, all members will be asked to express their interest in, or to nominate someone for, a committee position.
- All members will be asked to submit items they would like to be discussed at the AGM, and the present members will ratify/vote on the compiled agenda.
If the number of people allowed to meet under the COVID restrictions is 10 people, then the AGM will be attended by the existing / proposed committee members.
Please feel free to ask any questions, or make any comments regarding this proposal.
Regards,
Steven Gomboso B.E (Civil) MIE Aust PEng
